Candy Cane Lane

From 92nd to 100th Avenue and 148th Street

Bundle up because Edmonton tradition, Candy Cane Lane, is brightening the streets of the Crestwood community. Operating for over 50 years, residents of the 148th street neighbourhood decorate their homes with what seems to be endless holiday decorations. The OG’s can be picked out by their snowman decorations holding a small sign, paying heed to their starting date of 1968. Although, driving the lane, while potentially warmer, just does not provide the Christmas experience. Rather, take a walk and enjoy the various stations set up along the street to warm up next to a fire or take in a cup of hot cocoa. Better yet, opt for a horse drawn sleigh ride with blankets and carols and truly get into the holiday spirit. But ultimately, you’ll want to get into the spirit of holiday giving and togetherness, just like these folks, by bringing a non-perishable food donation.
